WHAT IS A LEAD CLEARANCE EXAM?
If your property is a rental in Cleveland Heights you will need to pass a Lead Clearance Exam to ensure that it is lead-safe before renting it out. HOW A CLEARANCE EXAM IS PERFORMED FOR CLEVELAND HEIGHTS
VISUAL INSPECTION
The exam includes:

LEAD DUST SAMPLING
Dust wipe sampling from various surfaces (e.g., windowsills, floors, and countertops) to check for residual lead contamination.
Laboratory Analysis
Samples (dust and soil) taken during the clearance exam are sent to a laboratory for analysis. This testing confirms whether lead contamination remains at unsafe levels.
Application Submission

GETTING YOUR REBATE

- To qualify for this reimbursement, your resident must qualify for state or federal benefits or be under a certain income requirement. They must provide proof that they receive benefits (SNAP, TANF etc.) and/or paystubs showing their income.
